“Who wants to hear about your life? You’re so boring.”
Do you hear lies about your life like these? These are the lies I hear when I start writing. Every time I go to write a post or work on a book, these lies come after me.
And while I might not be an online creator expat living in another country after quitting my job to go all in (clearly, this sounds exciting to me 😉), I live a life steeped in significance.
I do have a story to tell. Several of them.
I am a husband and father who provides, protects, and fosters connection for my family. My family needs me to do this job, and some argue that our society needs more than ever before.
I have a neighbor and a coworker who has experienced many tough things as a person. My experience in the workplace and on the home front can lend to improving the lives of others around me.
I have worked in four different career fields. I have experience in farming and road construction, running NCAA sporting events, and adjusting claims.
All of these experiences are stories. And all of them can help people.
You are not insignificant.
If you have felt like me, insignificant or boring, you have a story to tell and a role to play. There are people in your life who are facing hardships you have overcome. And you have what they need.
Each one of us was created for a time like today. A time when our particular gifts and talents can change the world one person at a time. I know that our stories will help other people.
I encourage you today to tell your story. The world needs it. And you might be surprised how much your story can impact one person. And how much your next story might move someone else.
