You need to stop waiting around to write your book. Now is the time to write your non-fiction book. Not tomorrow. Not yesterday. NOW! In fact, you can write your first draft in a month!
I’m not making this up. Tens of thousands of people are publishing books and making money doing it. I have said it before and will repeat it:
There has never been a better time to write and publish books.
Writing a book doesn’t have to be complicated. For most people, though, I get it. Writing a book seems daunting because it used to be very hard, let alone get it published.
But all those barriers, all those gatekeepers, are no longer there. They were pushed out the door to play second fiddle to online publishing platforms like Amazon KDP and others.
Yet, I know there are plenty of excuses for why you haven’t written your book. Let me name a few, and we can see if they match any that you have thought about before:
- I don’t have the time.
- I don’t know where to start.
- I don’t know where to publish my book.
- What if no one reads it?
- I don’t know how to write well.
- I can’t tell a story.
- I have never done anything like this before.
- What if I fail at it?
The list can go on and on and on. It’s a sad list, though. It’s a list full of self-doubt, fear, and unbelief.
The Land of Opportunity and Potential
You have a story to tell or a lesson to teach. You have an interest that others are interested in, too. If you have ever said the following words, you are probably the type of person who should write a book:
“I’ve always wanted to write a book.”
Many people want to tell you that you shouldn’t write a book. They will take the list of doubts above and jab you with them. But the truth is, if you want to write a book, you probably have something to say.
Now, you must counter all those lies about why you can’t or shouldn’t write a book. To start, I will share with you the list of counters:
- I don’t have the time. / I can make the time.
- I don’t know where to start. / I will simply start.
- I don’t know where to publish my book. / I will figure that out later.
- What if no one reads it? / What if a million people read it?
- I don’t know how to write well. / I can learn how to write a book.
- I can’t tell a story. / I have a story to tell.
- I have never done this before. / But now is the time to do it.
- What if I fail at it? / What if I succeed?
The land of doubts and worries is also the land of opportunities and potential. And your story will be written in that land of opportunity and potential.
